About the Collins Foundation, Inc.

The Collins Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that invests in initiatives that improve educational opportunity and strengthen community organizations in Connecticut, with a special emphasis on individuals from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Committed to the principle that a quality education ushers in a lifetime of opportunity, the Foundation’s prime directive is to provide support and encourage students from under-represented and/or disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education through the Foundation’s Power of One Scholarship Fund.

The Foundation also seeks to address the societal and economic imperative of building a strong and diverse workforce and citizenry by supporting high-impact initiatives that improve the access, equity and quality of public education in Connecticut.

In addition to our Scholarship Fund, the Foundation recognizes ordinary public servants doing extraordinary in work in our community each year through its Power of One Community Service Awards.

Our Foundation hopes to play a central role in our state in the drive to ensure that everyone who has the ability and determination to seek out higher education will have it. We’re nonpartisan and determined to get results!
