The Collins Foundation, Inc. Accepting Scholarship Applications for Its 2011 Class

PORTLAND, CT--Gary H. Collins, founder and CEO of the Collins Foundation, Inc., announced today that the Foundation has begun accepting applications for its 2011 scholarship class.
The Foundation is inviting senior level students who are presently attending a Connecticut public high school and who will be attending college in the fall semester of 2011 to apply. Additionally, a select number of underclassman will be selected to receive a scholarship that can be applied toward their college educations upon graduation from high school.
The Power of One Scholarship is not an athletic scholarship. It is awarded to students based on academic performance and financial need. Recipients may receive awards of up to two thousand dollars.
All scholarship recipients will be honored at the Foundation's breakfast in the spring of 2011. The Foundation’s Community Service award recipients will also be honored at this event.
The Collins Foundation Inc.’s Power of One Scholarship Fund considers and selects scholarship recipients based upon the judgment its scholarship committee and without regard to race, color, religious creed, gender, national origin, ancestry or sexual orientation.
