PORTLAND, CT--Dr. King believed that each of us should devote time each day to care for the least among us.

Each day of each year--including holidays--the dedicated public servants at St. Vincent DePaul Place & the Amazing Grace Food Pantry provide food, clothing, shelter and basic human services to poor and homeless individuals regardless of race, creed, national origin, criminal history or recidivism.

Their soup kitchen serves more than 88,000 meals annually. Their food pantry
provides food to more than 800 households per month. Children make up one-third of their clientele. This is why the Collins Foundation, Inc. is proud to award St. Vincent DePaul Place & the Amazing Grace Food Pantry with its 2010 Power of One Community Service Award.

The Power of One Community Service Awards to extraordinary local agents of change who have demonstrated a commitment to positive social change through their actions and initiatives in the greater Connecticut community.

The Collins Foundation, Inc. will honor and recognize St. Vincent DePaul Place & the Amazing Grace Food Pantry at its annual M.L. King, Jr. Day Breakfast.
