What does a fourteen year-old girl studying beneath the lights of a homeless shelter have in common with the son of a single mother trying to escape the horrors of gang violence in Hartford's north end? They believe they can change their circumstances through higher education. And so do we.

The Collins Foundation, Inc. invests in initiatives that improve educational opportunity and strengthen community organizations in Connecticut, with a special emphasis on individuals from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Committed to the principle that a quality education will lead to a lifetime of opportunity, the Foundation’s prime directive is to provide support and encourage students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue higher education through the Foundation’s Power of One Scholarship Fund.

Our Foundation seeks to play a central role in our state in the drive to ensure that everyone who has the ability and determination to seek out higher education will have access to it. We’re nonpartisan and determined to get results.
